Islamic Classical Arabic is an intensive Arabic language program for serious students who wish to take a study of the language of the Quran in order to approach classical Islamic Sciences, with potential for further academic study. Combining the acquisition of reading, writing and listening skills at an accelerated pace, this rigorous program employs modern academic pedagogical approaches to learning. Delivered by highly qualified instructors, students will receive on-going guidance to develop and improve throughout the programme.

Suitable for homeschoolers and those seeking total immersion in language, speaking, reading writing, understanding, this course will immerse the student in the language for an accelerated learning experience.

The syllabus, which will be used is the al-Arabiyyah lil-Nashieen series which has been used for several decades in seminaries throughout the world. This syllabus contains grammar – etymology – vocabulary and comprehension.

Develop proficiency and competence in receptive skills (reading/ listening) in Arabic.

Successful completion of this course provides students with the ability to:

* Demonstrate knowledge and effective understanding of the structures, registers, etc of Arabic.
* Knowledge and understanding of basic Arabic grammar.
* Understanding of a wide range of Arabic vocabulary.
* The ability to translate from Arabic of short length with use of appropriate language of the Quran.

Furthermore, students will be able to handle basic materials in Arabic and understand parts of the Quran confidently.
